A Flip-Chip is like having 2 Superchips, and has a switch so you can "flip" back and forth between 2 programs, usually one for 93 octane, and one for 87 octane. It's basically 2 different Superchips in one module. It allows you to use either type of gas and still see some performance gains.

Thumbs up

Correct, the standard Flip Chip has 1 program that is basicly your OEM program so you can run 87 Octane and the other program is the standard Superchip program for which you must run 92+ octane.

The benefit to having one, vs. just pulling the chip to run regular fuel, is that you still get the greatly improved shifts. Yank a chip and most people cry until they get it back in. Flip a chip and the performance might be a little dissappointing, but it still shifts great!

I don't have any experience with a reprogrammer, I could be wrong, but I'm not sure that unless you know exactly what you're doing, it would be a great idea. It might be frustrating too if you expect great results, but don't know how to get it there.
