Sorry I know this doesn't really belong ion here but it's almost 2am and we've just finished a head job on a Ranger with a 4.0 litre V6 and we can't get the firing order right!! It's hot, sticky and we're tired. Please help. All I need is a schematic for the firing order.

 

coil sits ontop of the engine at the rear of the right side. down that coil front to rear its 123 on the right side. and on the left side of the coil its 465. let me recheck but try that.

 

not sure what year. but i just check and i come up with 123 on the right front to rear. and on the left front to rear is 564. hope this helps. sorry if i got you off on a goose chase.

With your help it's the smoothest it's run so far. We have a bit of knock, although we're arguing if it's the the lifters or actual knock making the noise. We also have a CEL on the dash.

 

Seems to be running well on 123 564.
