In need of help.

I'm going nuts...my truck is running too hot, I replaced everything!
Fan clutch, Radiator, Water Pump, T-stat, Hoses, Serpitine Belt, radiator cap, and flushed it millions of times.
I realy doubt it's a head gasket leak because the oil looks fine, radiator fluid is as green as it was when I put it in, and I havn't seen one bit of smoke come out of the exhaust also the fluid level hasn't dropped.
It's a 96 F150 4.9L. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Justin

P.S. Also 2 months before this started I replaced the plugs and wires, I have a K&N FIPK, could it be getting to hot of air, I've had it in for almost 6 months now with no problems.

TEMP ?

Is it actually overheating, or is the gage just running to high?

It could be the Temperature Sending Unit, or even the Gage itself. My Dad has a '96 F350, with a 460 Big Block. He just had his worked on. The mechanic installed a Performance Temp Gage under the dash. Said it would be several hundred dollars to replace the factory stuff. Something about having to replace the whole gage panel assembly. Now, he actually knows the temp he is running, not just whether it is Cold, Normal, or Hot.

It now works like a champ.

Good Luck...

Are you sure that your temp gauge is reading right? If it were me I would take it to a garage and have them do an estimate on repair. This will allow you to klnow what exactly is wrong and you can decide if you want to repair it yourself or have them do it. In my experience at the dealership they have always done this for free. One thing that I know lowers the temp is Water Wetter. This is a product by Redline that lowers your temp by 30 degrees. You can pick this up at Pepboys for about $7.00.

Well I havn't actualy let it over-heat yet but it's gotten close, I thought it could be the cluster or possible a sending unit but I know the truck is running hotter because it begins to run poopy, I've ran a bottle of Water Wetter through it but didn't see a difference, I'm so stumped on this this, I might just take it to the dealership tomorrow

are you sure the parts guys sold you the right water pump? the serpintine belt runs the pump the opposite direction of a Vee belt. I think that would cause your prob if your gauge & sending unit are working right.

I'm pretty sure he would have, I don't think they would make any other one's for this truck since all 4.9L are serpintine belt driven, I'm thinking the new radiator I put in might be faulty.

Thanks,
Justin

I think it probly my A/C condenser...it sits right infront of the radiator and is full of bug/pebbles and road grime.
