Warrenty Question??

Warrenty Question??

I have a 2000 4.2l v6 XLT Flareside, and have had it for 2 years now, i have a 3 year 36000 mile warrenty, i would like to get the AC recharged, will ford cover it or will it cost me? if so how much will it cost for ford to do it???? Just milking the warrenty if i can befor it is up

nope just want to see of i cant get it recharged for free before my warrenty is up.....

Let me put it this way. If my truck's a/c wasn't cooling properly, I'd expect Ford to pay for whatever it takes to fix the problem. If it needs R-134a, then I'd expect them to find the leak and recharge the system.

If you look in your Warranty Guide, I'm sure you'll find out that the a/c is not a "wear" item like wiper blades.

An a/c system is a sealed system. Therefore it (in a perfect world) should never lose its chrge. There is a leak somewhere and your warranty will cover the leak repair and the cost to recharge it. The dealer might charge the system and put tracer dye in the system if they cant find the leak on the first visit. If they do that then you'll have to go back to the dealer so they can find the leak with a black light. When they fix the leak then your problem should be taken care of............Good luck

Why the Hell would you recharge an a/c unit that is working fine? That makes no sense at all........R134A doesn't wear out.
