Post MUstang parts on f150

Has anyone used anything from a mustang 4.6l on their f150 to add performance? I was wondering if you could use Mustang parts such as the intake or even the DOHC Cobra heads to hop up their truck.
Just curious, since my mustang was far faster than my truck is. What did ford take off to slow down our trucks?

If I'm not mistaken, the Mustang 4.6's are set up with an entirely different HP and torque curve. Drop a duplicate of a Mustang motor in your truck, and it will be piggish when taking off or pulling a load. Put one of our truck motors in the 'Stang, and you most likely couldn't keep any traction, since it develops so much more torque at low RPM's. As was stated earlier, figure a way to drop about 1500 pounds from your truck, and the performance would probably be comparable.

Yes, I see your point about the weight issue. I just wonder why mustang owners can get so much more HP to the ground and these trucks, we have to claw, scratch and steel HP to get it.
I just miss the boil the tires off feel that my mustang had, but I love the way the truck drives and handles. I want to be able to punch the gas and kick it side ways without it raining outised.

Do a search. This has been covered.

The computer, cams, intake, and exhaust system are some of the big differences.

Basically beyond heads and the K&N filter, there is not a lot of duplicate bolt on parts. Mustangs have he air cleaner to the passenger side, truck drivers side. Common sense that will take some fabrications.

Cool

Check the weight difference between the Mustang and the f-150. That's part of it.

Cams are different, don't know that you couldnt switch them though. Good by MPG.
