Red face Burning Oil!!!!!!

Okay, I have this problem, and I am not sure what it could be. When I really stomp it down, for a few seconds later I can smell burning oil, really really strong. I did the old 'stick your head out the window to see if it's someone else' trick, and it smelled like it was in the air, but it does it every time I rev it above 3500 rpms. I check my oil pretty regular when it is cold, and I don't seem to be losing any oil, not enough that I can tell, anyway. It only lasts for about 30 seconds after I run it hard. I have no idea wtf is going on with it, and I was wondering if y'all had any ideas. I can't see any smoke, not even when I pull over really fast and open the hood as soon as I start to smell it. Someone suggested that it could be a bad PCV valve, making it push oil when it gets under pressure. If it did that, wouldn't my oil level be down enough to notice, though? Any ideas and thoughts are welcome, but don't make this another thread where someone comes in and blames it on just being a Ford. If my truck never runs again, I'll still push it around before I'll change brands.
Thank y'all!

Thumbs up

Well, I mean, I love the F-150, that's why I'm here, and I hate it when threads get swamped with people who have no business here saying "You should just get a Chevy or a Toyota, they don't have problems ever. I drove my Silverado eleventeen thousand miles and nothing was wrong with it." I mean, it's an F-150 site, and it should be about them. The only reason that there are so many problems talked about in these boards, is who else are we going to bitch about it to? *S* I'm happy with my truck, it's just minor things. Thanks for the support, though.

Even the smallest amount of oil hitting the exhaust manifold will cause a great deal of "burning oil smell".
Check around your valve cover, look on the upper surfaces of your exhaust manifold.
You should see evidence of oil.
Hopefully you just need to tighten something up .

Cool

Check your dipstick They tend to push loose off the tube when there are high crankcase pressures.
