Question K&N air filter change

I just purchased a K&N air filter (part number-E-0945) for my 98 F150 v8 4.6L. It does not look like the standard air filter that I am replacing. It is quite a bit smaller. Is this a problem? Perhaps the wrong air filter got put into the wrong box...Should I try it or not? Thanks

It will be a little smaller but if it locks into the airbox tightly than you have the right one. If I remember correctly that E-0945 is the right # for you.

yep, that should be the one. Got one in mine and noticed the same thing. Just as JUPITER said, make sure you get a tight fit and you shouldn't have to "force" anything when sealing it up.
