Cool Redline for 5.4L?

Does anybody know what is the redline for a 5.4L engine. My trucks shifts at 4900 RPM from 1st to 2nd at WOT. Just wondering if that is too low and if it was higher if performance would increase. Thanks.

Mine shifted at 4800 stock, now 5000 with the Superchip, which I think is too high. I seems like 4800 is better, after that the engine revs higher but you aren't going anywhere...

ok now look at ya'll tach's.......there is no "conventional" red line.......there is what they now call a rev limiter........computer controlled.......it is a set limit from the factory to keep the motor within rpm levels for operation......look at most dragsters and high performance vehicles and the rev limit is well over 6000 rpm......true that our truck produce power between the 3000-4000 range........but if ya'll can bring power to the 6000 rpm range then it will bring optimum power....and even though the spedo rates the f-150 at 100 it can do well over that.... remember the ole rangers of the early 90's when the spedo was "stuck" at 85........well that ranger could do over 120.......lol now if im wrong someone please correct me......but thats just my .02
