ive got a 99 5.4l with a af1 intake, superchip, and flowmasters. coming home today i came up to a light by my house. the second lane is mostly for turning traffic, and whenever someone stops there they will gun it to get ahead of the crowd. i wasn't paying too much attention, and i could just make out the hood scoop of a gt. a black gt. i was sure he was going to gun it, but i was a bit surprised. i quick hit OD off, he took off, and i did. i pulled up to him and we were running neck and neck till second. he shifted to second and his tires screeched for about half a second, and it was as if i stomped on the brake. he floored me! i know the kid, i'm sure he has some mods, but damn, thats the worst i've ever been beaten.

 

I raced a 2003 mustang gt convertable a couple weeks ago.
We were at a light, and the guy was asking about my plates... really friendly, then he asks "wanna go for it"

Sure I say (I didnt expect to win, just wanted to see how bad I would lose)

It was no contest thats for sure! He smoked my hiney in a bad way. He was cool though, gave me the thumbs up as he flew by me.

The worst was having to listen to my wife chew me out all the way home LOL

Don't race with your woman in the truck, she called me a big inmature kid all the way home.

It was still fun though........ women just don't understand!

I raced a Lexus the other day. I was at a red light and she was behind me. Well, as I turned to get on the highway, she was right on my tail. She then proceeded to start to pass me. So I was at the top of 2nd getting ready to go into 3rd. So I gunned it to the floor. No Contest. She blew by me like I was sittng still! I was doing about 50 mph when she passed by. So she had to be going 80-85 mph. I don't know what was under her hood, but it sure was fast! I never felt so bad in my life, besides the time I had the stomach flu.

 

I am just wondering what some folks think they gain by turning the overdrive off. It does not go into overdrive anyway if you keep it floored.

 

I had a run in with an older GT back when I only had exhaust and intake. I believe it was a '96 or a '97 GT, Auto. At the light I caught him by half a truck length. After that, I couldn't pull on him anymore, but he couldn't pull on me. I was suprised, as I expected him to at least be able to pass me in my big slow truck.... I'm sure that hurt his ego.
