So, when is the court date? I can't wait to hear how this turns out.
Hi Supercrew I can see the dilema your in--
Perserverance is what you'll need. This radiator issue is not new. I find it interesting that some guys post here, got bigger rad. installed, etc. Ford told you "NO"
I've had 3 new fords. 2 trucks-1 van. Starting in 1977-88-99. 99 being F250LD SC with the 2row-2plus inch. rad. Point is:
I've seen many things that Ford has tried to weasle out of, I have seen things that the dealers do to Ford. Yeah, you guys know. HA
How many times have you seen a Ford rep. standing there looking at what the dealer says needs to be done? Think about it. Ford screws the dealer, the dealer turns around & screws Ford, where does this leave the consumer.
yeah, i got screwed on the bum paint jobs in 1988, but thats another story.
What ever you are told, either by the Dealer or Ford or? get it in writing. Do the research, cause the way i see it, if, & i only say if you think this is fraud, then you gotta prove it. Or what ever you think it is you gotta prove, even in small claims.
Dealer didnt install the radiator. Trying to pin that on him, again do the research. Think about it.
Just my thoughts. I do know the feeling.
Best of luck in your endeavors, of course your gonna need more than luck. OT

I checked my rad, and I have the 1.42". Now my truck is a 7700, so they saw the need to put it in mine. What makes my truck with the same engine as normal F150s need more cooling with a tow package? It's all BS!! Ford once again is trying to pull a fast one to save a buck. Just like trying to save $4 per tranny on the 4r100 that held my truck up for 15 weeks past estimated delivery date when it failed and all 4r100 trannys had to be recalled and rebuilt. At least that one backfired in their face. Maybe they are trying to recoup some of those loses by putting in cheaper rads than what customers pay for. They (Ford)think we are all stupid and will never find out. We need a big name attorney to start a class action lawsuit representing every F150 buyer in the country. That would be a real wake-up call.

Brought this back to the top. Still wondering how the court case is going. "Enquiring Minds Want to Know"
I did!!! Got the call today - See my post from other threads below:
------------------------------
Update: I just got off the phone with Dan Wiebold, the owner of Dan Wiebold Ford in Nampa, Idaho just outside Boise. He called to say my new radiator was in, a 2.02". I asked why not the 1.42" that is specified for the 2001? He said that when they tried to pull it up on the computer to place the order, the number did not show up...?!
Anyway I am scheduling today for replacement.
Dan also said he has not had any luck in contacting Ford about this situation. The dealers are still being left in the dark.
My hat is off to Dan Wiebold Ford for working with me to resolve this issue.
Good Luck out there...

Hi Supercrew No offense, your thread, but now Trays reply got me confused?
I dont get it! Im not involved in this radiator dispute but--
I've had 20+ yrs. experience with Ford & the dealers i bought through. On my 3rd one, 1 van, 2 trucks. Latest being 99 SC.
My question for Tray,(glad your getting radiator) If your dealer is putting in new radiator, but cant get an answer from "Ford" then is he installing etc. at his own expense?
Has to be in my opinion, cause Ford didnt give him the go ahead. If this is the case, then you have an exceptional dealer, service dept. A very rare group!
Just curious. OT

Yes, Dan Wiebold Ford is installing this on their own dime. I first ask if they were going to file a misbuild order and the answer was no. I then ask if they were going to claim it as a warranty item, again the reply was no.
As I understood it, each warranty claim is logged and montiored by Ford. As with the IRS, (it's worse with Ford) if too many warranty claims are filed, the Red flag goes up, Ford comes in and audits the books. They require the dealer to file fill out tons of paperwork and also statements from customers verifying that the problem was indeed a warranty related item. I guess the time and effort to do this is not worth it and it's cheaper for the dealer to "eat" the cost. Perhaps this was all "B.S.", I personaaly don't think so. I believe Ford will shaft the dealer anytime they have an opportunity.
Dan Wiebold Ford is a "Blue Oval" dealership and with this rating a dealer can't afford to have too many "Pissed Off" customers.
I did receive the Ford survey in the mail the other day. I told Dan I was waiting to see how he was going to handle this problem before I filled the form out and returned it to Ford.
If things go as planned, I'll give Dan Wiebold Ford the highest marks possible for being honest with me and honoring my purchase of a product which I did not receive.
