Angry TOO MANY MILES ON 99'...they said

I was told at a Ford Dealer ship that 65k miles is too many for a 99 f-150. I think that's bull. They only offered $14,000 for my truck. I rather keep it. What are the highest 99' miles out there? My truck still runs like new.
thanks.

average is 12-15000 per year. They're just trying to low-ball you. You have high miles so they'll try to steal it anyways. I'd keep it if it runs good.

It is more than the average 12 - 15k miles the dealer would like to see on a used vehicle - they're easier to sell with low miles on 'em! Higher miles are always a tougher sell, but many us don't drive average miles. If you want more money, you may be better off selling it your self... Good luck!

Don't feel bad, they offered me 10K for my 99 F250 (LD, SC, XLT, 4X4,5.4,LS, etc.) because it had 90K on it. I was looking at a 98 F150 with a 4.6 with less miles because of gas mileage. They wanted 19K for it, and they wouldn't budge on price.
I asked them if I looked stupid. Why in the world would I give them $9000 for a truck with less options and a model year older than mine? I walked out and now they won't stop calling me.

I was thinking of trading off my y2k 4x4 w/v6 (15,000 miles) on a 97 2wheel drive w/v6 until the local dealer offered me a whopping 13 grand.Too bad the payoff is 18,000.They used the market is real soft right now excuse. What gets me is that they had a 97 (4x4) identical to my truck (except 60,000 miles) and they were asking 16,000 for it.The price on the 97 that i wanted was 10,000 wich was a pretty good deal, but they wanted to add that extra 5 grand from my trucks payoff onto the price.I just told them that there is no way that I will take that kind of loss and drove away. The goal of the trade down was lower payments. oh well

Those crooks are trained to break you down with negativity. High mileage, underpowered 4.6 engine, late payment from the stone age on your credit report, etc. Don't go to a dealer without a battle plan, and be prepared to walk out. If emotion creeps into the equation, you're dead meat. Try selling it at Carmax, they appraise it free, and there's no pressure on any level.
