My AirForce 1 FIPK did not void my warrenty. I was told by the dealer that the intake as such and even the chip would not void the warrenty. However, pulling out the belt fan and putting in an electric fan would....

Dealers will always try to screw you around as far as warranty work (they don't make as much on warranty work as they do on non-warranty work). Your warranty is only voided when you add or do things to your truck that would directy damage factory damage. An example would be if you put a supercharger on, and you had a piston blow. The dealer could say the piston blew because of the increased pressure in the cylinder head (or a variety of other items. Now if your radio stops working, they can't blame it on your supercharger, thus your warranty is intact. You have to PROVE to them, that your added device is not the cause of the intial problem. They don't have to prove that it is. Pretty much, don't try to take any "BS" that they'll try to feed you, and they'll back right down.

Thumbs up

You *shouldn't* have any problems, but most likely *will*. As BlownHarleyFord said, dealers will try to get out of performing in-warranty repairs whenever possible because they make less money on them.

My K&N FIPK has been sitting in my garage since I took it out July of last year when my truck first developed problems and hasn't been reinstalled since. I took it out just to avoid the arguing warranty issues with the dealer, which is something that you can always do.

Unfortunately my truck has been in for service so much that I haven't been able to put it back in! Arrgh!

Stick with this good rule: If you take your truck to the dealer with stock parts, stock parts caused the failure.

Keep your airbox in the garage and if you have to take the truck in waste the 5 minutes it would take to put it back on.
