From my understanding the class 3 package offered a reciever hitch and 7-pin plug, super cooling, a trans oil cooler and a beefed-up battery and alternator???? As for the shocks, that would make sense as well. Could really help you on telling reg. shocks from the HD ones, maybe somebody else can help. I'll check my paperwork when I get home and see what else I can find out.

The HD shock have a fatter body than STD. shocks and piston dia. STD=1.19" HD=1.38". My 99 150 had STD. shocks and rode like a car\streetboat, my 01 has the classIII TP w\HD shocks it rides a hell of alot stiffer big difference, now it rides like a truck not a car.

asking if anyone else got the wrong battery with their tow package, received 2 hits, all said they had correct battery.
Well, I've been fighting this crap( Tow Package lll), since the truck came in (March) and last week I looked at the battery...WRONG ONE...I feel Ford has absolutely no control as to what is being built on the line.
I to question the shocks, my 01 rides different than my 00, but I thought it was maybe the seat difference, but deep inside me , I feel screwed..... https://www.f150online.com/f150board/frown.gif

Just got back from 2.5 hrs at the dealer. My 2.20" radiator is in. What a HUGE difference in size. Temp gauge seems to run a little lower as well. Invoice says," Replace radiator-engine overheats when towing." I never told any such story. But whatever it takes to get what I paid for...
