Fuel Injectors
Are all fuel injectors the same? I know they come in different fuel flow ratings such as 19 lbs, 24 lbs, etc. My question is about the physical size and the connections to fuel rail and electric connectors.
For example, a friend just bought 6 rebuilt fuel injectors for his 4.0 litre Jeep and they were $40+ each. New injectors would have been near $65. However, in the Summitt catalog I saw Accell injectors that were new and a set of 8 were just over $200.
Can someone educate me on this? Why the big difference?
What rating do we have on the 4.6 and the 5.4?

Well, at your dealer you'll pay $65-85 a piece, yet a Motorsport, excuse me, a Ford racing products dealer can sell you a whole set(8) of Ford injectors for $189.00(19's). There a 2 basic types Pintle and disc, and only a few companys actually make them. Fords are mostly pintle type, that I know of, and the common ones like 19# , 30# and 36#er's are all the same dimentions, and they are color coded as to their delivery rate.orange and gray are 19's , black and red are 30's etc. Fords are made by Nippon Denso, japan!!! others include Bosch, Lucas.I hope this answers your question.

HI!... I've got FORD MOTORSPORT racing 24LB injectors in my truck. They are made by BOSCH. They cost me $209.00(U.S) from SUMMIT RACING.

Thanks for the replies. Sort of an education for me. I was aware of the pintle type; not aware of the disc type. I guess our trucks come stock with 19s since Neal moved up to 24s and makes all that power.
The so called rebuilt injectors my friend bought at the local parts store were yellow on top and gray on the bottom. The Accell injectors in the Summitt catalog looked Yellow and black. Ford injectors blue and black. Seems the manufacturer makes them the color their company is known for. Accell coils etc., yellow. Ford and the blue oval.
