Post Fuel Filter Dilemma

Having problems changing my fuel filter. The last time I changed it was Nov of 99 and I remember it being difficult then but I thought since I had already done it once it would be a breeze.Wrong... I have the tool that I bought at NAPA, it's the KD tool.I inserted the tool all the way into the fuel line and then pushed forward on the fuel line while pushing the tool into the line and it won't budge. Any tips? Am I doing something wrong.I can feel the line moving forward but it is really hard to push on the line while pushing on the tool and then trying to pull the line off.Am I supposed to hear some kind of click and then the line will just pull of? Any ideas or tips?
Thanks.

use a big screwdriver behind the tool and pull on the hose some times the clip inside of the hose gets caught so u might have to cut the filter off and replace the clip inside of the hose
remember use a hacksaw not a cutting wheel if it comes down to that

Dennis,

Spin the tool after you push it as far as it will go. Also push the hose onto the filter to free the spring seal. Now while simultanously holding the filter and pushing the tool you pull on the hose.
