Post TPS mod (mine was already at 1.286???)

ok we tried it out on my cousins screw and his was .943 we brought it up to .999
then we went to do my truck and it was already at 1.286???
i have the superchip in so is this what is making it so high
or is that just what it was set at the factory?
my truck has always had better throttle response than my friends 5.4 but i but i just figured mine was built on a good day or his on a bad day lol
wassabi----

i almost bet Neal will be here so im gonna ask this to.... on ur custom FIPK do you have a heatshield? since it is sucking in hot air from the motor will it hurt the motor any? how did u mount all the sensors and the MAF?

Cool

HI!... PYRO : If your TPS was set at that voltage from the factory and you have NO idle problems, leave it alone. The SUPERCHIP does not effect the TPS at all.

My custm fabricated FIPK, used to have a aluminum heat sheild under it but I have since removed it. I'm now going with a PERMA-COOL heat sleeve instead. My ATS has been relocated to the outside of my hood. All other sensors are in their stock location. Hot underhood air will not HURT your engine. It will cost you some H.P though. That is only when your truck is sitting still or going very, very slowly. At normal driving speeds a kind of vacuum is created under your truck. This vacuum sucks the hot underhood air out and replaces it with cool outside air. I've already proven this with 2 digital temp guages that I have installed in the MAF and outside the truck. The underhood air temp is usually only about 5 degree's hotter that the outside temp when running at normal speeds. Hope this helps you out.
