Post Jacobs ignition on 4.6L What is involved? Is it Worth It?

I am thinking about putting on of these on my truck but would like some opinions from those who have it. Is it worth the money? Mileage increase? Power increase? Any thought would be appreciated. Also what is the difficulty in installing one of these. If anyone has pictures of the installed product I would love to see them. Thanks in advance.

Cool

I know some people are very happy with their units, I personally don't have one but have had to trouble shoot many a friends vehicles with them installed. IMHO, the Jacobs unit is a potentially good unit, but the OEM unit is a very high capacity unit to start with, the actual gains if any would probably be minimal. But more importantly, I have seen many units with defects, shipped new in the box. Customer service is poor if not aggitatingly inept. On Toyotas, a second unit is required and they wait until you install the unit to find out it "Cuts Out", then when you call to trouble shoot, they inform you need to spend about $100 to fix the problem. I am not impressed with this company. I personally stick with Crane systems.

Thumbs up

From what I've seen here and on other sites the 4.6 doesn't make any huge gains. Several have pointed out that it does help and saves fuel which will pay for the mod in fuel savings.

I have a unit on my '95 302 and am very pleased with it. Of the intake, pulleys, exhaust or ignition if I could only have one it would be the ignition.

As far as customer service, I've heard good and bad. Some say it's terrible, some say it's great. I do know that an acquantance had a coil go and had it replaced without problem. The unit he bought was a demo and only warrantied for 90 days, they replaced the coil way after 90 days.
