Mass air sensor
Hey Folks, I am going to order a superchip but I am thinking about ordering a better Mass air Sensor as well. Has anyone upgraded this? If so did it work, what size and where did you buy it? Thanks for the help everyone!! Helluva a site here!

HI!... JEFFRANDOL : You can get a "PRO-M" MAF from a company called PRO-FLOW. These are the most commonly used aftermarket MAF's. They are 80mm, the same as the stock MAF on your truck but with a revised sampling tube. This causes them to flow more air. If you install a aftermarket MAF on your truck, make sure you get a SUPERCHIP or get your current SUPERCHIP re-programed for it. Aftermarket MAF's are known for leaning out your air fuel mixture. This can cause severe engine damage if it is run like that for a long period of time. In my opinion you will only gain about 3-5H.P with a aftermarket MAF on a basicly stock engine. They give great H.P increase on supercharged engines or naturally asperated engines with a ton of mods, like mine. If you want 28H.P and 46FT/LBS of torque then go get yourself a SUPERCHIP from MIKE TROYER. After the install you won't be disapointed.

hello,
I have tried the MAF sensor from Granetelli.
I noticed a difference in performance on the freeways (not from dead stop). It was an 80mm sensor and my exhaust got noticeably louder. I don't think, however, that its worth $320, but I think it'll make a good companion with a high performance chip.
