I have personaly seen two Dakotas run at the track on the same day. Coolva, (heavily modded 318) 13.5 and my brother-in-law (stock V6 4x4) 18.2. So, from fastest to slowest it would be somewhere between 13.5 and 18.2

I'll bet that helped a whole lot!

(My numbers are stock)

The truck I just sold was a 2000 Dakota Quad Cab 4x4 with the 4.7 V8, the same engine used in the Grand Cherokee. These engines are rated at 230 or 235 horsepower. It's good to be back home with Ford but I will say that the Dakota, though not a race truck, had no problem getting out of its own way.

Cool

I toasted a Dakota Sport with the usual mods. He waited until I shifted into 2nd and still had his in 1st. He never made it past my door. OVER!!!!

There are several of the little snots running around here, it seems like I am the only Ford in Dodge County around here, but I have ran several of them and I have a 97 4.6 and I have never lost to a stock one. They are good off of the line, but they never can keep it going, I catch them at about 60 mph, and I race every one that I can get to run me. I have a K&N, but other than that, mechanically it's bone stock. Good luck!

Someone in my dorms has a dakota sport 4x4 with v6. Haven't raced him but I don't think he'd have a chance. It is also ex cab. I think others are copying my dual exhaust. I get mine then someone in a full size dodge truck gets it then the person with the dakota gets it. The dakota sounds like ***** with it.
