I recently got an exhaust system put in my 94 f150 xlt 5.8 and I love it. especially when I turn my overdirive off. when i turn it off it seems to get a bit louder. and i was wondering if it were at all harmfull to the engine. I mean now that ive got the exhaust i usually turn it off right away. should i change this habit?

 

shouldnt be a problem having it off if your just driving around town. but when you get on the highway i would turn overdrive back on to cut down on your rpms.

 

You won't hurt a thing either way on the highway or off... It may cost you a slight loss in gas milage on the highway, but you definately are not going to do any damage.
