I am not sure what those cars run... but most trucks here run 15's and possibly low 15s with some mods. So that may help ya...

Please tell me the Eclipse didn't have 20" wheels, adjustable airplane wing on the back, and a huge exhaust tip that sounds like a can of very mad bees.

they're slow. my last car was a bone stock 94 civic hatcback (102 hp) and i shut down an eclipse rs pretty hard at highway speeds. they're heavier than they look (3000+ lbs, versus <2200 for my civic) and only have like 130 hp.

i walked the guy pretty hard in a car that had less than 100 ft.lbs, so you know it was slow... after i shut down he even tried the ricer flyby and i slammed it into 3rd at 80 and he couldnt get around...

I belive the there was an RS and a GS. The RS was the 4 cylinder, the GS was the 6... I don't think you'd want too much of the 6 cylinder in the 102 h.p. Civic... Didn't they have between 210 - 230 h.p.?

Fisrt and foremost I would like to say hi to all of you as this is my first post on your site! I do not own a F 150 but my dad has a 4.6 ltr. I have an eclipse GT (v6), previously owned a 94 ranger 4.0 ltr...wish I would never have gotten rid of it.

Now about mitsu's

In 98 there was no V6 eclipse. The V6 was not put in the car until 2000 where there was a complete overhaul of the eclipse line (new chasis and all). In 98 these where your choices:

RS slow as can be...bottom of the line had a dodge neon 2.0ltr in them.

GS same 2.0 ltr motor but had a more feature content...still slow.

GS-T great car...turbocharged 2.0 ltr 4...put out 200hp 200 lb/ft...0-60 in 6.8 seconds bone stock. a tad over 3,000 pounds...pretty quick little car

GSX the mother of all eclipses...turbocharged 2.0 ltr 4...put out 200hp 200 lb/ft (maybe slightly more in the GSX, not sure)...and the good part AWD. The AWD system in this car is amazing...0-60 in about 6.2-6.4...front/center/rear LSD's...all bone stock. A few hundred in mods and you are definitely hitting sub 6.0 second 0-60 times. Can run anywhere from mid 14's all the way down to 9's with the right stuff done. (www.roadraceengineering.com go here to learn more about the eclipse GSX and GS-T's).

In 2000 everything changed:

RS - new 2.2 ltr motor....still slow

GS - new 2.2 ltr motor....still slow...has some feature content

GT - (my car) 3.0 V6 200hp/200 lb/ft. Runs 0-60 in about 6.9...runs about 15.2 1/4 mile from the factory. Not much aftermarket performance support yet buit we are getting there.

GT-S (or GT-R not sure) 210hp / 210 lb/ft...same as GT but adds a slightly lowered suspension and a variable geometry intake manifold that really smooths out torque and horsepower delivery on this motor. Just a tick quicker than the GT.

Sorry for the long post and I hope you guys enjoy the elclipse info. Check out www.neweclipse.org. It is the 2000 and up eclipse online club I belong to. Great info and we love chatting with other car nuts! We even have a F150 Lightning owner who is a regular.

Tim
