Lightbulb Perspective, Patience and Pride

Hi all,

Forgive me if I get on my soapbox for a moment and comment on some of the threads that have been occuring here lately. While we all have our opinions (and preferences) I would hope that we could all voice these without being critical or abusive of others (as evidenced in the recent C3 thread). A good old-fashioned "debate" can certainly be a humbling and informing experience, however, some of the debates here as of late have me believing I mistakenly found my way onto a Chevy site (just a joke, of course). I think we all have a great deal of pride in our rides and that is a great thing until it starts affecting how we interact.

I would not trade my F150 for any truck out there (except for maybe a Lightning ) but this is not because I think others are "junk" or that owners of others are "jerks" -- I have just had a lot of luck with Ford as compared to other products. I am sure, you can find a Chevy owner who thinks the same way.

The bottom line is that each manufacturer has it's own pluses and minuses -- it just really comes down to preferences.

In my case, my preference is Ford for some very specific reasons: (1) excellent (long-term) reliability reviews from multiple independent magazines, (2) very positive personal experience with Ford products (3) very negative personal experiences with other products (this includes both Dodge and Chevy) (4) Engineering (Triton Engine made Ward's 10-Best list every year since inception) (5) Looks (both interior and exterior) and finally (5) ride.

Ok, I am off my soapbox now -- sorry for the diabtribe. Let's all now sing a chorus of Kumbaya... (or, maybe not )

Regards
