Performancs Mods for 5.4V8
HI!... LIKELINUS : The FIPK filter kits give you about 14H.P according to dyno info I have seen, but count on a TRUE 10H.P increase. The SUPERCHIP will give you 28H.P and 46FT/LBS of torque on your 5.4. This has been proven over and over again on a "EDDY" current dyno.Go with the ASP power pulleys (2 PULLEY KIT). You will gain about 7-10H.P with these. The JBA headers will give you 17H.P on the 5.4. This has also been proven on a "EDDY" current dyno. If you do all the above mods then you should be making about 315-320H.p at the flywheel. Read my SIG below to see some other mods you can do. Hope this helps you out.

Neal, i appreciate the reply! Yeah i actually was reading your sig and a few others earlier to get a general idea of what i could do. I'd like to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 320 or so HP...that'd be great. That helped alot! Thanks.
Anyone else have suggestions.

HI LikeLinus,
The others have provided some good feedback hre, I just wanted to comment briefly on what you can expect from the Superchip. As Neal mentioned, the maximum rated gains from the Superchip on the 1999 & newer 260-hp version of the 5.4 are 28 hp & 46 lbs./ft. of torque at sea level altitude. Your 1998 5.4 was rated at 235 hp stock, and will gain about 1-2 horsepower and 2-3 lbs./ft. of torque less than the later 260-hp. 5.4's gain from the Superchip, so it's pretty close.
In terms of what to expect the Superchip to make your vehicle feel like, it's going to feel like you just picked up about 10% more motor under the hood, is one way to express it. Not everyone lives exactly at sea level altitude where all manufacturers rate their products, so what you can expect from the Superchip at any altitude is about a 10%-12% increase over what you're making stock.
The JBA headers are definitely worthwhile, though most people do them later on, as they're a little bit futher down on the "bang-for-the-buck" list, just because they a bit more expensive than some of the other mods. But they're still very worthwhile, and will need to be a part of your package if you want to get to the 325hp level.
Take a good look at what Neal has doen to his truck, as he is at that kind of power level, and can tell you a lot about how to get there from experience.
Good luck!

I went with the Superchip and drop in K&N filter. I have been considering a FIPK..but I am more than pleased with the Superchip/K&N combo.

I've got an 98 extended cab 5.4V8. I'd like to start adding some mods as money permits. But i've got some questions on real world HP increase and what i should do/add and the order.
I've looked at the
Airforce 1 kit. They say around 14HP, what would i really expect?
Superchip. I'd do this after all the other mods, but how much HP with this?
Poweraid. They seem like some nice pullies, whats the HP rating on these?
and last
The JBA Headers. It says anywhere from 10-30? What is realistic?
What do you think my overall HP output would be if i had all these installed?
I'd also like to know some other mods that i could do! Please let me know everything and anything! I'd appreciate it. I'd ideally like to be putting out somewhere near 325hp, i dont know how realistic that is though?
