Unhappy Runnin' out of ideas!! -- Help

For the past 18 months I have been trying to get Ford to fix my rough idle problem. (SEE "ROUGH IDLE/ENGINE MISS" For a "blow by blow") It has been to the original dealer 6 -9 times and to another dealer one time. Both dealers sense and feel the problem, also both dealers, diagnostics - show nothing wrong -- therefore they can't change anything else.

I extensively compared the "big 3" trucks when I purchased this truck, and came to the conclusion that the Ford was the truck for me . I really like everything about it (as you can tell from my profile below-- I have even mildly modified it)-- EXCEPT for the rough idle!!! (rougher than many 4 and 6 cylinder engines I have been test driving to replace my wife's car).
Where I am at now, is that my original dealer would like to get me a good "trade-out" deal, rather than have me go to the Ford arbitration board-- or whatever they call it.

As I just had Cardio- cath surgery one month ago ( 2 stints installled in my now refurbished heart) I really don't want the stress of dealing with a bunch of lawyers.

Does anyone have any ideas that would help me to get a better buy-out, or to(and this would be fine) get Ford to turn off their damed diagnostic tool and use their brains to fix my truck ???

Mark:
Have you thought about going to an independent mechanic? If someone else could fix your truck, you may be able to get reimbursed for the cost. Another idea is to contact your local community college's automotive program to see if they'll take your truck for a week. The students might leap at the challenge, plus the instructor might like the idea of a real world scenario.

Just a couple of ideas that may help.

Mark,
I don't know if you get the signal, but here in the New York/New Jersey area on WOR Radio 710 AM on Sundays at 10:00 am to 12:00 pm EST you can call the "The Car Doctor" Mr. Ron Annanian. He is syndicated throughout most of the country. He is a friend of mine. Or if you send me your e-mail, I could pass it along to him. Ron's probably the best chance that you would have in solving the rough idle problem. Bugman.
