Post Piston Slap

i have heard alot about piston slap on this board. is piston slap a problem on the 200 5.4 or is it a defect in older ford engines. there are so many 5.4 engines out there they cant all have the problem. please let me know if the 2000s have the problem and also how rare the problem is. and if you know what causes it??

My 2000 today was diagnosed with Piston Slap. A Ford engineer on the phone with the chief mechanic said they know of the problem and will not replace my engine because no engine has ever failed due to PS. I'm going to fight Ford on this one. There is no reason why a $30,000 truck should have engine problems with only 3,000 miles on it.
