Thumbs down Wrong Raditor(Dealers reaction)

Went to my dealer today told them I had the wrong radiator in my truck 1.02" and that I selected the tow package as option and it says super cooling(raditor upgrade). Then I showed him the sourcebook and it clearly stated sc 1.42" single core. He then measured mine to make sure 1.02"( I think I know how to measure). This is the service manager by the way. Next he popped the hood of 2001 Screw and it had the 1.02". He said "see this one has same as yours and that ford might off changed the specs so that the 1.02" raditor cools better with larger cores or something like that(bulls***). I then said That this truck has the wrong one and it is not the right one it should also have the 1.42". He then said "Let me look into it further". He said that he would call and do some research. I then said "I just want what I paid for and he aggreed". Very dissapointed my question is what should I expect his answer to be after he talks to Reps and Whoever else?

Expect to get screwed on it! From what I've been reading on the issue, dealers are either bending over backwards or turning you around and bending you over. I'm in the same boat as you... dealer said that he talked to the service rep... got the same line of cr@p you did. Time to find a new dealer.

I'm 1/2 way there: Greetings fellow screwed; My first visit to the parts guy was basically a look and see at the parts computer which showed only one rad for the 5.4 . This is true, I saw it myself. Only the 4.6 with a standard tranny was labeled as "supercooling". All the rest were just part numbers. My second trip which was today, Teusday, I went back and brought along the 2000 spec sheet which shows a 2"+ rad and the 2001 which shows a 1.42 rad. I believe the 1.42 is the result of the new rad design for supercooling, the 1.02 is the same standard rad showed for 2000 and 2001.
Without trying to be to much of a pain, try having the parts guy call ford and ask for the proper rad for a 2000/2001 supercooling application. This does two things; defines what is standard, and what is supercooling.
My dealers parts guy used this approach today, and is satisfied that I have the standard rad.
Thursday I see a tech, who will do his thing and hopefully resolve this issue. I will keep you posted under the topic of "Wrong radiators 2000/2001"
under the forum of "engines".
