S'crew gas mileage?

A good friend of mine is looking at getting a new Screw and he wanted to know some real world mpg numbers. Thanks in advance.

13-17 highway w/5.4 much worse if you play a lot!

I'm not sure about the 4.6 but I do believe after reading a lot of posts the 4.6 is about 1 mpg better.

These #'s are not that bad! My wife thought they were until I showed her MPG figures for Durangos, Exploders, X-Teras, 4 Runners they all are in this range.

Good luck its a nice truck!

5.4 / 3.55LS axle / 31.5" tall tires (29-29.5" are stock):

11.7 - strictly city
18.4 - best...all highway loaded down with camping gear and 2 passengers.
14-14.5 - 60% city & 40% highway.

I try to maintain 1900-2000 rpm on the highway. Like everyone else...going over 2000 rpm while cruising will have a moderate to significant drop in mpg.

Other mods in signature below.

Just completed a 3889 mile trip from Kansas City to Los Angeles and back. Mileage for the trip was 18.2 -- 4.6 with 3:55 gears.

Drove 80mph in UT, AZ, CO, NM, NV -- 75 the rest of the time and carried about 400lbs of gear.
