replaced 4.6 - 99
Well, they finally got my rattle fixed!
Turned out, after changing flex plate,tourque converter and then rebuilt tranny, it was too much end play in the rear main. I now have a new 4.6 ( rebuilt).
I live in Cobourg, ON. The local dealer gave me the run around. They dragged their A$$ on getting it fixed, The service manager was suppose to send a fax to the Oakville plant on what was done. He didn't!! I got the number for the tech specialist who looked at my truck. Gave him a call. He was a little upset I got his number, but, he pursued it for me. My hats off to Barrie!!!!
Set it up to take my truck to another dealer, checked for endplay on rear main, discovered problem, replaced engine. I am now more than happy with my truck. The dealership who did the work was Fraser Ford in Oshawa. I kid you not, I have never had service like this from a dealer before. They treated me like a King.
I am still a little dissapointed with my new purchase, not that I should complain, they have repaired all items. But it is the amount of warrenty claims I have had....
Shifter bezzle replaced twice.
Leaf spring pads
Paint peeled off of cup holder
Day time running lights
New door skin.
Rear shoes
leaking trans fluid from rad
trailer connection coroded
Shifter boot - twice
rebuilt tranny - not necesary
new flex plate - " "
new converter - " "

Hmmm, good to hear, when i read that you were in Cobourg, i was going to suggest that you go down to Fraser Ford, I know of many people that have gone there and been treated right. In the GTA, it's that Dealer and Oakland Near the Ont Truck Plant.
I used to work at the plant as a student, and probably built a handfull of the trucks that are owned by people on these boards.
