Question PI intake manifold

I am having trouble finding an intake manifold for my project engine. I have a new short block and purchased low milage PI heads which I will be doing a basic port and polish. My intake will not fit and I can't seem to find anyone willing to part with one reasonably. I have found one for the 2002 mustang. Does anyone know if they are the same. The runners don't look to be as high and I wonder if that will effect torque. It may just be the new design...
Second question, can my 1997 be ported to match (doubtfull)??

There are differences in the shapes of the ports between the two. I dont know if there's enuff meat on the intake runners to grind and shape them to fit the PI heads. Check out these engine pics ala Neal to see for yourself.

Good luck and if you find a way to mate your 4.6 intake manifold to the PI heads please do tell us !!

Cool

HI!... WLF : From what I have been told by 3 seperate buddies that work at the FORD ENGINE plant here in WINDSOR, that the "2001 - "2002" 4.6's that got the H.P jump to 231H.P now have the "O.I" heads on them. If this is true then the intake manifold for those year 4.6's should already have the matching intake ports to bolt up to the "P.I" heads. I'll try to find out some more info on this from them this weekend. I'll let you know.
