99 HP increase
HI!... The "P.I" 5.4's started in VERY late "98". My "99" 5.4 was built in early JANUARY of "99" and is "P.I". Most likely the one your looking at is a NON - "P.I" 5.4. If you want to make sure then take a look at the passenger's side cylinder head. By looking up through the passenger's side wheel well right above the 1ST manifold's exhaust port there will be a casting # cast into the aluminum head. Next to the casting # there will be the letters "P.I" cast into the head. If they are not there then it's not a "P.I" 5.4.
better breathing through 'improved' heads and intake manifold. Good for about 25 HP and 25 Lb. Ft. of torque I think (can't remember 'old numbers'.)
99-up 5.4L 'PI' is rated at 260HP & 350 Lb. Ft.

Cool! Thanks Neal, I just looked and my cylinder head and it does have the PI cast into the head! I always wondered if it really was a PI truck and now I know!
Thanks

HI!.... HMUSTANG : Is'nt that the way it always goes!LOL! Back in "99" I was looking into buying a "99" LIGHTNING before I bought this truck. I went into the dealership and the salesman there and another one told me that the list price was going to be $61,000 (CAN)!!!!!!! I said no frickin way am I paying that for a pick-up, LIGHTNING or not. 2 days later I ordered my truck and the total price of it came out to $41,000(CAN). I got the truck 4 weeks later and 3 days after that I drove by the dealership that gave me a price on the new LIGHTNINGS. I noticed they had two on the lot.I went in to look at them and the sticker price was just under $44,000(CAN) What a bunch of A$$HOLES!!!!!!!!!! If I would of known that I would of waited and got the LIGHTNING for a few thousand more. IT FIGURES!!!!!!!!lol!
