Hi,-Please let me know how many miles did you have in your truck when it blew-up ???-I'd like to get this infromation because I think there is some problem with those engines.
My blew-up @ 37K mile and there is some kind of game is going on on Ford side.
Anyway, now I've to pay $1600 to repleace the engine.
Let me know as much as you can.
Thank you much.

I had the 5.4 in my 99 replaced with an FQR. At the time I wasn't too excited about it, but the FQR was quieter, more powerful, and got better mileage. It would run circles around my new 02.

I think I'd be majorly pissed if they put some rebuilt used motor in my 01. That motor could have 200k on it with and reground undersized crank and all. I could see that on a 3 or 4 year old truck, but not 1 year old.
