Question engine code location?

I need to find my engine code. I know of the one on the passenger side doorjam but that has worn off. Where else should I look?
Thanx.

You can also look on the computer plug as well. The computer sits under the dash, passenger side fender/engine well. Just lay down on passenger side floor, look up and to the right corner. You'll see the computer mounted there (4"x8" silver box).
The code is on an end cap, facing the passenger, not the engine compartment.

I think I just confused myself...it sure is easier showing than writing.

Question

Now I'm confused. Engine code or computer code? The eighth position of his VIN would be an L meaning he had a 5.4L. I can't see his VIN from here but, I read his sig.

The four position 'computer' code that was on the passenger door is also where murfster stated but, sprhck said he would check it out before murfster posted so, where is sphck going to look at lunchtime? (and what is he really looking for?)

Tune-in tomorrow...

Talking

I was going to check the vin, but after murfster's reply I went and checked the code on the computer itself.

BTW, murfster, thanks for the info, I was able to understand the instructions good enough to find it. Now I just need to get the money together for a superchip. (looks on floor for loose change)

I had a feeling that it might have been the computer code (passenger side doorjam was the clue), so the (surprisingly good) directions were for the computer.
I had to re-read it several times... and the response.

I am living in my own lil confused world right now...
Glad it worked out...whew.

You can also look under the hood and find the computer plug directly behind the battery on the firewall. On the black or grey plastic piece it will have you 4 digit code (it has the computer cables running from i)t. Which by the way you need to remove if you install the Superchip.
