High idle when engine is cold.
In the last two weeks when I go to start my truck, the engine will idle between 1,800 to 2,000 rpms and I cannot get it off the high idle unless I put the gas pedal to the floor a few times. I even put it in gear or shut it off and turn it back on but, it does not change the idle. It only seems to happen if it is well below freezing or after a snow storm. Once it warms up, then the truck will idle at 750 RPM. I never had it with the original engine. I'm bringing it into the dealer sometime next week for other problems as well as this one. Has anyone here ever experienced this problem?? If so, what was the fix?? Thanks. Bugman.
