Question which intake?

i planning to get a new air filter intake kit but dont know which to buy. i'm looking for one that is strong mounted, can take alot of off road abuse and can last along time with out rotting away. i was looking at the AF-1 but dont know will the shiny tube stay shiny, Airaid- is the tube metal or some sorta foam like tube?, and K&N looks kinda short and should be closer to the fenders so it wounldnt suck alot of warm air. which one do u guys and gals think i should get?
thanks for ur replies.

go with an airforce intake, it's stronger and got better reviews with the manufacturing as opposed to the airraid kit (the only reason I did'nt get one is because they made one for my truck after I purchased the Airaid).. either way the FIPK is a great investment.

Sucking hot air under the hood theory is completely untrue, do a search for Neal's post "hot air under the hood" and you'll see the tests he did proved that assumption wrong.

good luck whatever you decide

which companys has a bigger filter or are they all the same and interchanagable. the one on the K&N intake looks larger, maybe thats why it sits farther away form the fenders.

Chris,
all your doing is basically freein up more air intake for your engine, you do the install correctly (which is easy) and you'll be fine

the only thing you should worry about is going through deep water with the FIPK, not a good idea.. you don't wanna suck water into your engine
