Fixed- Buzzing under dash 97F150 5.4
Hi,
I posted a message about buzzing coming from under the dash that seemed to be related to engine vacuum. While idleing, the buzzing could be heard under the dash and I thought it was in the heater controls.
I got under the hood and started listening/looking/feeling. I felt the heater hose going inside the cab. It was vibrating badly. I bumped the throttle, the vibration stopped. I noticed the heater hose ran over the PCV hose. It was buzzing worse. I popped the PCV valve out of the valve cover. There was an unbelieveable noise and vibration coming from the PCV valve. For $2.39 I replaced the PCV valve and all the buzzing is gone.
Thanks for all who replied to my orig. post. Especially the one who suggested checking the heater hose. It really saved me alot of time tearing the dash apart for nothing.
