Looking for advice
I have 98 f150 4+4 offroad with an 4.6l and auto trans mechanically stock. Book says 231hpi'm looking for at least 300hp K&N has a nice package generation 2 fipk with 3"exaust sounds good to me but my question is if i install the poweraide spacer w/the K&N system will i get more hp with both or is it overkill with the spacer and fipk in other words k&n 32hp poweraide spacer5-8hp
pullys8-10hp hypertech3 15-25hp 75hp Right?

Got me lost. The 4.6L only had 210 hp in 98 though. I don't know why you think it would be overkill. You also have to remember that the more miles the engine has on it, the less power it produces unless you rebuild it.

You can't just add up the claims made by all the manufacturers to get your gain. Each of these gains is incremental.
Realistically, the mods you are suggesting will probably get you from 210 to about 230 - 240 hp or so. I think the claims made by K&N are not very realistic.
On that engine, if you want 300 hp, you should look at the Magnacharger (lots of threads on that).
Also there are lots of threads about the spacer - it makes a great paperweight.
Good Luck

Thank's for the reply King Ian yea i'm not going with the paperweight spacer I think i'll just start with the fipk, exhaust and pully's as for the superchip or hypertech3 any suggestions there guys? mabey i'll look into those 5.4 heads i've read some good stuff there ?Thanks again about the spacer not many takers for it around here!only 210 really?
As far as the computer chip mod...I have been more than pleased with the Superchip brand. It is well worth the investment and I highly recommend it!!
That is correct..the 98 f150 4.6L did not have 231 hp...my stock 98 5.4L only had 235 hp.
