Question Whistling noise from the engine

Well I have a 4.6 V-8 engine, with true dual exhaust with two single in single out flowmasters. and every now and then as i accelerate i hear a faint high pitched whistling noise from my engine and maybe the airconditioner. if anyone has had this problem or knows how to fix it i'd appreciate and help

I have a 1999 with the 4.6L and I have a whistling noise at about half throtle. I think it is coming from the airbox but I'm not sure. I plan to replace it with a FIPK soon so it doesnt bother me.

I also hear that noise. I hear it between 5000 and 5500 rpm right before it shifts. That's only when I floor it.

I HAVE THAT WHISTLING TOO. I HAVE SEEN SOME PEOPLE SAY IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE FILTER, OR THE INTAKE. I JUST TURN UP THE STEREO, THE NOISE GOES AWAY!!!!LOL!!!!I AM NOT REALLY SURE WHAT IT IS.

I too hear that noise, I just chg'd the stock filter to a Air Raid FIPK with a K&N filter recently. It did not really notice it till I chg'd the exhaust to a Gibson Split back (dual pipes out). My neighbor says he can hear me coming and so does my wife! They say it sounds like a Turbo. Anyone knowing a solution to this pls post it. I think it sucks!

My Ride:

2000 Flareside EC/SB 4.6 4X2 (Harvest Gold)
Air Raid FIPK/w K&N filter
Gibson Split back duals/w tips

Lund vent shades, bug shield
V-Tech tail light covers (painted to match)
Tinted Windows
Factory street flares (painted to match)
Factory grill w/honeycomb insert (also painted to match-swapped plain chrome one)
Towing Package-Class III

Future Mods:
Fabtech 3 1/2 lift with
Eagle rims/31-33 inch tires

I also hear the whisling noise, but i kinda like it. It sounds like my fathers power stroke's turbo. And yes, it is probably coming from the intake. But it is a good sound.

Thumbs up

The whistling doesn't bother me as much as the voices in my head that won't stop talking...
