I'm having a problem with my air bag system, almost certainly the passenger's air bag switch. I'm getting a flashing SRS light with the key on-code 27. The truck is a 99 F250 (light duty).
Can anyone with a service manual tell me what that code means?

 

Passenger air bag deactivation (PAD) warning lamp inoperative. Could be caused by- open or short to ground on circuit 1113(Y/LG).-damaged or burned out PAD indicator.- damaged or inoperative PAD switch.- damaged or inoperative RCM.- a blown PAD switch I/P fuse 22 (7.5 A). an RCM internal concern.

Thank you, thank you! Now, could you decipher some of that for me? It sounds like something happened to the PAD switch or light when I had the trim piece off to remove the stereo. I don't know what could have happened, though. I let the trim piece hang from the wires, but I don't recall pulling on them hard enough to do any damage. Perhaps it's the fuse you mentioned. If that's in my fuse block, I'll go check.

Did you have to buy the whole 300$ set of Helm manuals or can you advise where we could get a listing of PCM, SRS, and (R)ABS codes.
