I'm just a girl in the world! Help??

Hi
I overheard some guys at work talking about the K&N filter and about the superchip. I love my F-150 and would like to have some feedback on what you guys and gals think of these items and where the superchip can be purchased?

Thanks!

I have been using the K&N filter and Superchip combo for a good while now (multiple late model 5.4L F-150s). I am ABSOLUTELY pleased with the performance gains.

Check out the Superchip section on this site and contact Mike Troyer (Superchip distributor) for price/information. There is a ton of information about the Superchip there.

K&N filter and SuperChip?

Can you say a 40 horsepower increase and even more increase in torque? I thought you could. https://www.f150online.com/f150board/smile.gif (At least with the 5.4L.)

Go for it!!! https://www.f150online.com/f150board/biggrin.gif

FORDTOUGH44,

Dont buy any of them!!! If you do, you will only buy more and more mods and you will be hopelessly addicted like the rest of us! J/K https://www.f150online.com/f150board/wink.gif

I have both K & N FIPK, and the Superchip, and they are both good products. The K&N FIPK is not as nice, as the Airraid or the Air Force systems, but it is the only one CARB certified (Smog legal)so that is the one I bought. Dont be confused between the K&N Filter, ($50.00), and the K&N FIPK, ($200.00) Becuase the FIPK, is the one that will give you the bigger horsepower gains!! Also all 3 of the FIPK systems, use the K&N filter.

As for the superchip, it is great! If you dont have any mods on your truck, then get the chip first, you will notice a big difference.
The only drawback to the chip is that you have to use the premium gas, 92-93 octane.

You can buy the Superchip on this site from Mike Troyer, as Dustoff has said, and you can go to the online store here as well for the K&N. Roger lemere runs the store, and you can email him or call him directly, and he will be able to give you all the details and answer any questions.
I bought my K&N FIPK from Roger, and he is a cool guy, and willing to help anyway he can. I plan on getting all of my future mods from him, and the F-150 online store.

There are some cheaper alternatives out there for performance gains.

1. The superchip will give you performance gains, but not as much as the auto tranny trucks. With the auto tranny the line pressure and shift points are also altered with the chip. You may want to save the chip for last and get one custom burned with all your mods that you end up with.

2. You can get a replacement K&N filter, then gut the stock silencers in the air track. Much cheaper than a FIPK.

3. Get a good muffler or better yet cat-back exhaust system.

4. depending on how you use the truck, an electric fan

5. synthetic fluids

6. TB, MAF, heads, cams after that. Open up the engine or supercharge it.

7. Then get the chip.
