Angry Idle Speed Screwy

MY '97 F-150 4.2L V-6 5-SPEED HAS AN IDLE PROBLEM. DURING NORMAL DRIVING, THE IDLE IS VERY HIGH (NO TACH SO I'D GUESS ABOUT 25OO), BUT WHEN I COME TO A FULL STOP IT IDLES DOWN AND STARTS MISSING AND SOMETIMES STALLS. ANYONE EVER ENCOUNTER THIS? NEED HELP!!

UPDATE: AFTER HAVING THE CODES READ, IT SEEMS THAT THE EXHAUST O2 SENSOR WAS FRIED THERBY AFFECTING ALL THE OTHER O2 SENSORS. REPLACE IT AND ALL IS WELL (FOR NOW).

Kirk,

I'm having the same problem with my new truck(1998 Ford f-250) and my old man the other night had it all tore apart and we installed new factory injectors and new factory computer. We replaced the injectors because the resistance on all the injectors was different. The truck was runnin strong today going to school, but on the was back from school when I started it in the parking lot it was running like crap, I mean total crap Well now as I type my old man is down at the dealership bitchin them out and trying to figure out the problem, so just let you know your not in this alone man and when my old man gets back from the dealership with the truck I'll let you know what's going on.
