Lightbulb Filter Relocation kit for the 5.4L Engine.

I was wondering if anyone out there has put a filter relocation kit on there 5.4L. I had a 1999 F150 Supercab with the V-6 and it was easy to get to the oil filter, but I recently purchased a 2001 SuperCrew with the 5.4 and it is next to impossible to get to the filter. So I was pondering the Filter relocation kit as a way to solve the filter access problem. Any feedback would be helpful. Also if you have a specific brand that you used that you were happy with let me know, and maybe tell me where you relocated it to as there is not much room that I can see.

Thanks, Jeff

SCREW5.4L

Turn your steering wheel to the right and use the filter wrench that fits on the end of the filter. Then it will come out fairly easy.

Screw5.4, My mom has a 99 DOHC Navigator and the filter on her's is remotely located in front of the driver's side front tire. I don't even have to use ramps when I change the oil since the filter is right behind the bumper. I thought all 5.4's were like that, but I guess not.

There is a reason Ford stopped using the remote filters. One is they get knocked of in accidents and off-roading because they are so vulnerable right in front of the tire in the wheel well. This resulted in lost oil pressure and blown engines. The other reason is that they saved a few bucks by deleting them.

The best design I have seen was an S-10 Blazer I had with the 4.3. It had the filter on the fender right under the hood. Very easy to change the oil on that thing.
