Red face LOW END KNOCK

Have just bought a 99 supercab 4.6 with 21000 miles in excellent condition, I thought!!! The other day I'm sitting in park giving it a steady rev to 2500 rpm , the engine was already warm from the drive home, and all I heard was this knocking from the low end!!! I procedded to the dealer I bought it. All they said was THAT DOESN'T SOUND GOOD! I had only driven it a week and about 5 or 600 miles. Good news ford is putty a brand spanking new motor in!!!! The engine was is vin W.

wheezer447,

Welcome to clack and sputter, er, I mean F-150 online. Sorry to hear about your problem. Nice to see the dealer stand behind the truck. I would like to know where the engine was built so could you check your VIN, Vehicle Identification Number, and tell me what the 8th didgit is. It should be either a 6 or a W. So your VIN should read something like 1FTDX17?. TIA.

Regards
