Google picks up very old posts if you look at the dates you see the last replie was 12 years ago. Dan maybe dead by now! Get your codes read and bring us the actual code number. Could be lots of stuf but plugs wires and coils are generally the main issues..

 

I have a very rough idle, plug wire on #3 poped off, engine light stays on and blinks at times, have not heard a back fire yet started about 2 weeks ago, 266,000 miles, replaced plugs and wires so far, any suggestions?

 

What year and engine? What brand plugs and wires? Have you checked the OBD2 for codes?

I'd probably do a compression test.
