Anyone have a set of stock 4.6 performance #'s I could use to guage what gains I have gotten with my mods? Currently running 0-60 in 13.1s and no clue on horsepower and such. Thanks!

Are you sure about that 13.1? b/c my stock 4.6 was around 10, but maybe thats just cause mine is a 5-speed. now i know i am under 10.

Yes, your 4.6 does sound a little slow. Here is a thread I posted several weeks ago.

Thought I would share some raw numbers. "Non-scientific" but the best I can do. Truck has 1800 miles and may lossen up a bit yet. 2 runs each direction on flat road, Shell 92 used for all gas (incl stock), 19-28 deg and winter weather, 20% 4x4, conventional oil, trans in overdrive.

As indicated in previous threads, the chip is a worthwhile upgrade, but the exhaust is also wonderful. Low end torque is now tremendous. Shifting perfect. Chip took 1 hour, directions were HORRIBLE. Exhaust 2 hours, directions ok. AirRaid 1 hour, directions excellent.

Stock, 600 mi, 4900 rpm upshifts
0-60 = 9.46 seconds
0-80 = 16.50 seconds
50-80 = 10.2 seconds
City = 13.4 mpg
Hwy = 14.8 mpg

Superchip Only, 800 mi, 5150 rpm upshifts
0-60 = 9.15 seconds
0-80 = 15.3 seconds
50-80 = 9.57 seconds
City = 13.1 mpg
Hwy = n/a

Superchip and AirRaid FIPK, 1200mi
0-60 = 9.75 sec (engine warm,fluids cold)

Chipped, AirRaid, Gibson SS, 1400 mi
0-60 = 8.38 seconds
0-80 = 14.80 seconds
50-80 = 9.18 seconds (using overdrive)
50-80 = 8.73 seconds (overdrive off)
City = 12.7 mpg
Hwy = 14.9 mpg

------------------
2001 Screw, 4x4, 5.4L, 3.55LS, trailer tow III, 255-16 tires, skids, no cap yet.

Superchip
Gibson Stainless SS
AirRaid FIPK
Line X, other misc.

Very sure about that 13.1..That's the best I can get my truck to do, unless I'm doing something wrong (I ran in 4x2). I had my brother ride with me with a stopwatch and start the watch as I floor it and stop it as I pass thru 60. Made several passes and that's the best I could do. Any suggustions about why I'm laggin so far behind?

If my speedo is correct I can do 0-60 in 9.62 seconds. That is with stock exhaust and intake(air filter and stuff).

Phoenix, do you have the original size tires on there. If they're bigger 1) they'll hurt powerwise and 2) your speedo will be off unless you've corrected it. I went from 30" to 31.5" tires and my speedo was off 3mph at 60. The first few times I tried to time 5-60(I do that for my testing purposed to take out wheelspin from the picture) I was running almost a full second slower that my times with the old tires. I knew it should have only hurt me a few tenths to change the tire size 1.5". Finally I figured out that I was testing 5-63 and that was where the time inconsistancy was. For comparison with the 30" tires, my best 5-60 was around 8.8 seconds. I can't hook up with my open diff, and never wanted to try heating the tires up for traction, so my best 0-60 is around 9.2.

I'll check into the tire size idea. I don't know if they are stock size or not (got my truck used). Also, found about an inch and a half slack in my throttle cable that I removed so that the cable is tight. That dropped a half second off. Down to 12.7s now. Would ignition problems, like weak spark, cause this? Mebbe fuel pump or dirty injectors? Graspin for anything! Meanwhile, thanks for all the sugguestions and I'm gonna keep diggin till I find out the problem.
