throttle body/ mass air sensor?

Question throttle body/ mass air sensor?

can someone tell me how to clean this thing, i am not sure what the name of it is... it sits on top of the manifold with the throttle blade in it ( we used to call em carburators! ) anyway its all black and crappy inside, should i remove it? what type of cleaner? spray gumout? can i screw up any sensors? thanks....

YES you can screw up lots-o stuff!! Only use "Induction cleaner" or a Ford approved product!!!

Carb cleaner from the old days will strip the protective coating on the throttle body and throttle plate (The names you are looking for) You can't see these coatings but trust me they are there!
