Post Radio help?

Can someone tell if a radio/cd player from a 99 Ranger will fit into a 98F150?

I only have a tape now and want to upgrade to a (stock)cd player. Someone on ebay is selling a radio/cd player, and he said it "should" work, but i should call my dealer.

I asked my dealer, and he said it will fit, but was not sure if it would work.?.

Thanks!

yes it does! been there done that. all you have to do is turn the bracket (white plastic) on the back of the rangers cdplayer upside down. just one screw as far as i remember. then it plugs right in and slides in.

Depends... is it the single disc CD player or the dual media CD/Cassette? I think the single disc will work, but I know the dual media out of my sister's 99 Ranger wouldn't work in my parents' 99 Expedition... the mount was different like otterbob said, but there was also a clearance problem between the top of the dual media one and the bottom of a dash reinforcement at the back of the opening. I believe the CD player should be able to work since it's not as tall at the back.

It's the single CD player. I put it in last night and the rear speakers are dead. When I move Fade to the rear I get nothin'. Well, I think the radio fubar, but before I start pointing fingers, I'm trying to track down a wiring diagram for the 99 Ranger just to see if the pins are the same as mine (which my dealer thinks it is). It's also has a green display, my old one was blue. Well, thats what I get for impulse buying!
