S&B Filters

Looking to replace the stock filter with an S&B Filter. Anyone here replace their stock filter with the S&B? If so, what performance gain have you seen in HP and fuel mileage.

Thanks,

JR

Hi JR,

We carry the S&B line of filters, and you can expect about a 4-5 horsepower gain from using their drop-in filter in the factory air intake. Some manufacturers claim a lot more power gain, but the reality is just about any of those kinds of filters, whether it's the K&N brand, the S&B brand, or what have you, all of the gauze & oil type low restriction filters wil give you about a 4-5 HP gain in the F-150.

As far as mpg gains, you'd be lucky to see a measurable gain, realistically speaking. An air filter is not really a gas mileage enhancing type of part, though it does reduce restriction, so if you did a controlled scientific test you might be able to see a maybe a coupla tenths of a mile per gallon improvement, perhaps.

If you would like to go over that or anything else performance-related in more detail, feel free to give us a call.

Good luck with your truck!

Quite honored with a reply from "the man" on the CHIP Board! Read many of your recomendations (FACTS) on what works in these trucks.

I will be giving you a call to discuss "options" on intake systems / filters. A purchase to follow....

Thanks,

JR
