I am curious if anyone knows what kind of prices crate lightning or cobra engines are running? I am intrested in getting one for my 98 f150 in the next year. Im curious what horse power each puts out?

I checked into this for my 97. With the needed change in electronics, either of these engines would be a very difficult install for the 97-98 model year and would require changing out the entire wireing harness and computer.
If your engine is good, just put on a good aftermarket blower. If needed buy a 5.4 lightning shortblock, also available at Karkraft and bolt on an aftermarket roots type blower. There is a lot of good information on aftermarket blowers and kits in the turbo/surpercharger boards on this website.

my main prob with my present engine is that when i bought it, i was just looking for the truck so i only the 4.2L v-6. it drives great and prob is better on gas than a bigger one, but i just want a little more power, along with a good deep sound when i redo my exaust.
