Angry HELP! electric fan - engine runs HOT

I installed a 16" perma cool electric fan with a csi temp gauge and sender to turn on the fan at 185F. Well the truck runs at 195-200F on the gauge and 93C on the odometer temp gauge which converts to 199F so the fans on all the time. Isn't this too hot! Do I need to install a second fan? would changing to a lower temperature thermestat help? What temps are you guys running with the stock fan? Thanks alot for your help

Cool

HI!... The stock thermastat in the newer F-150's is rated at 192-195 degree's. I have two 16 inch electric fans but only one is hooked to my PERMA-COOL thermo sensor. The other is controlled by a manual switch. I usually run between 185 - 200 degree's according to my AUTOMETER WATER TEMP guage.

I don't think the fan should be ON all the time.

Do you have the fan set up as a "Pusher" or a "Puller"???

Is the rest of your cooling system functioning efficiently???

Question its a puller .......... I think

Sorry I took so long to reply the fan is pulling the air through the radiator into the engine compartment, This is correct isn't it As far aas i can tell the rest of the cooling system is running properly. What temps are some of you running with the stock fan setup? thanks alot for the replys

I assume the fan is blowing in the right direction? I know some of the Perma-cool fans come setup in different ways. We had one that was sold as a puller out of the box and then went to buy another one and had to flip the blade around to make it a puller also. That temp is probably about tight but it shouldn't be one all the time. Unless you do not have enough fan (cfm) and it has to work constant to maintain that temp.

Sounds about right to me. My odometer temp guage reads 91-92 most of the time. Can climb up to 95 for a short time if I work hard.
