Trash, I am not using the FMU. I also did not know that you could modify the injectors. However, I think I'll still go with the 42's, but thanks for the info. What made you realize you needed such a large injector?

Could you give me a little more info on the pulse width. I have no idea what that is or what it does.

Thanks,
Ron

Bless your heart, FMU's are band-aids. Does Ford use them on factory supercharged vehicles......NO. It takes a bit longer to get the chip tune spot on, but the results are worth it.

Yup, you can take FMS (now FRPP) injectors and have them modified. The 30's will flow 47#'s and 36's will flow 77#'s (when modified)!!!!

However, I think I'll still go with the 42's, but thanks for the info. What made you realize you needed such a large injector?

Experience, word of mouth, and my chip tuners suggestion. Sometimes by going to such a large injector, idle and low rpm operation are sacraficed (you have to turn them on/off very quickly). I had no problems running them, they delivered everything I needed.

Just a technical term to describe the "cycle rate" of a fuel injector (or other electrical solenoids / valves). It's a signal that tells the fuel injectors when to open, how long to stay open, and when to close.

Before you get new 42's ($$$), I would try a 255 in tank pump with your Vortech inline (if you are using the inline?). I swore up and down that I had enough fuel system on my old Lightning, but it turned out that I didn't. I added a T-Rex and my lean upper RPM condition disappeared. What is your fuel pressure doing at full boost. With no FMU it should be almost 50 psi with no FMU and the stock regulator (at 9#'s of boost). It could be that your 100% duty cycle on your injectors was caused by a chip tuner that dialed in more injector pulse width to try and richen things up. You may find that with enough pump, you can get your duty cycle back down and be fine with the 30's. My Mustang is running 30's and makes 354 rwhp with a 255 lph in the tank and a T-Rex in line (no FMU!).

Let us know!!

Thanks,
Ron

I will keep all those interested with my fuel injector ordeal posted. It will probably be a couple of weeks before we know anything. Thank you for your comments and ideas. I've got to get this thing staightened out before the next F-150 rally or before I sell it!
